Is it ok for a single dad to adopt an 11 year old?

Published by admin on February 4, 2012

Is it ok for a person who is 59 and has a 14 year old to adopt an 11 year old child. Is it ok even if he’s single? He has his own CPA firm which is doing well.
Again he has a 14 year old daughter already and he’s in pretty good shape he looks like he’s 50.

Yes, as long as he is in good health and the child has no major behavioral problems, it would be fine. Mature fathers are often the best.

  1. Ly Said,

    59?
I but why would he want? to adopt a child with that age?
do he have children? or sons?
a 59 person is A Golden Age person.. and 14 and 11 year old teens change and explore too much
maybe it will be a lil complicated?

59 is a bit old. By the time the child graduates from high school, dad will be well into his 60s. If he is in good health and can properly care for the child and give him lots of love, it might be a good idea. Adopting an older child from foster care is almost always a good thing to do. It’s just unfortunate that this man is not younger.

ETA: Looking like you’re 50 is not the same as being 50. Looks are superficial. What kind of shape is his heart in? What about his lungs, liver, etc.? I just think that it would be extra terrible for this child to be adopted by someone in his elder years and then lose ANOTHER parent because the man dies a few years later. Not that 65 year olds die often, but it does happen. I’m thinking about the CHILD, which is what is important in adoption. The CHILD. Not the adult(s).
