can anyone help with custodial parent relocating issues?
Published by admin on February 27, 2011does anyone have any info on custodial parent relocation? do you know of a case in which reloc. was granted or denied? reasons why? I am a divorced mother of two and recently engaged. i am wanting to relocate 100 miles away. for better sschools, financial security, and finally being a stay at home mom. my ex is completely against the move even though i have offered him a similar visitation schedule. he threatens to fight all the way and then appeal, appeal ,appeal. can anyone help?
Yes , go to the court room where your case was seen, take a look at the records and what determination the Judge took at the time. Ask for a review if you so desire to move to another state or out of the USA. What conditions where taken in your favor or what ever circumstances are making you move from the state. Or go to a good lawyer and let him charge you for legal representation.

I’ve been divorced twice.
Depends on what state you are but the court usually will not change the custody situation unless there is a major change in circumstances. A move is usually not considered a major change, even if it’s 100 miles away. Those are all good reasons for the move, the court will usually look down upon it if you are moving for reasons such as for your boyfriend. But a better job, better schools are are valid reasons. but it all depends on the state you are in.
