i really want to use xbox live and i need a good argument with my parents, help please?

I have my own laptop so i can do xbox live and i am willing to pay 1/2 for the wifi cost, and maybe more… my stepdad is really stubborn and says no, what are good argument points i can use to persuade him to let me play it without being rude about it?
Maybe you can try to do some jobs around the house, then save up $50 so you can pay for xbox live for yourself. I’m sure part of the reason they don’t want you playing games online is because they would rather you be out being productive. If you show them you can be productive and responsible (by paying for XBox live yourself) then maybe they’ll give you a chance and let you try it.
There’s all kinds of things you should be able to do to make a little money for that. Help around the house, mow a neighbor’s lawn, etc..
